Passport validity for Tajikistan

GOV.UK says your passport must have an expiry date at least 6 months after the date you arrive in Tajikistan. It must also have at least 2 blank pages.

Count from the day you arrive, not the day you leave. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before you book.

Visas

You must have a visa to enter Tajikistan. Apply online for an e-visa before you travel or for a pre-approved visa on arrival. Allow at least 2 weeks for processing.

Your e-visa is only valid for 60 days after approval. Tourist visas cannot be extended, so you must leave before your visa expires.

Registration and permits

If you enter without an e-visa and stay longer than 10 days, you must register with OVIR in Dushanbe. Hotels can no longer do this for you.

You need a separate permit to visit the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, and for areas within 20km of the Afghan border in the Khatlon Region.
